Peasant Suggestion
Im not sure if others will agree but i was thinking and thought it would make the game "better" if each of the different peasents had a unique power that they could use. E.G Red- extra health
Blue- slightly longer teleport range
Green- Mirror image
it doesnt have to be those but thats just what i thought and the other colours would have one too.
(they wont be good enough to tip the scales in any way just for a bit of extra strategy)
What you guys think?

oh so kind of like vamp nightmare.
you could do one player's defence building have 2% more health, one player's towers do an extra 5 damage. maybe one player has the ability that lets you go invisible when you don't move at night. maybe one of the players even move faster.

Great idea! Then VU would die just like Vampirism Generations (or whatever it was called), Ben's Sheep Tag, and even HLW! What I'm getting at is simple: The more diverse one makes a game the more favorable some aspects become. So keeping it only 2 different races makes it easier to balance, and balancing is the current issue at hand; adding more races would just imbalance the game.

I suppose but i don't think it will make it unbalanced. They are just tiny perks that each colour could access to make it make entertaining.

I think they died as more popular games were made and Battle.Net is plain and simply losing its popularity.

My opinion is these would be cool however they would encourage threats and fights as people will want their favorite perk and in my opinion I try to avoid conflicts. However what if at the start of the game you could chose your perk? Through text buttons or commands, that would avoid conflict and still add that additional fun.

I would be a jerk about it myself if I made the map, and by that I mean I would randomly assign a power to each peasant every game but also would make it so no two peasants have the same power.

Thats a good idea however I personally would like the choice in order to suit my current tatic for that game.

The conflict would be the same, all you've done is change how it occurs... variations in what are supposed to be equal unit types are what cause players to get outraged with a game and simply give up on it. I mean I get why it's good with Island Defense, but it wouldn't work too well with experienced VU players... at least, this is my opinion.

it is highly unlikely to cause conflicts as you are free to choose whatever perk you want. It doesn't matter if someone else like s the same on as you do. They pick theirs... no complaint

How do you not realize that by allowing everyone to choose the problem still occurs, just a little differently? If two people want the same thing then they'll fight over it - end of story.

I think Kantus is suggesting to allow multiple peasants to have the same power. Personally though I would do one power per peasant. and like I said before be a jerk about it don't let peasants choose if you do it make it give them random powers whether they want it or not xD

Agreed.
Now, to further elaborate my point I have to say that by allowing the peasants to have not only powers in general but also to have multiple it would set the game in an even deeper state of imbalance, almost ultimately destroying the VU community. I realize that's an over exaggeration, but it's a possibility.

It is not that peasants have multiple powers. It is one per peasant but each can pick their own power from a list of many. So there can be two or more peasants with the same power.

These power aren't meant to make the game unbalanced. Something like the peasant moves a little bit faster, isn't going to ruin the game when the vamps are already faster than them. But it could help the peasant in other ways.
