The Sphinx Topic! (aka Riddles)

I'm making this topic in the efforts to add a fun little game for members who visit the site..... We're going to tell RIDDLES!!!!

At first this might seem kinda lame, but I believe riddles to be fun ways of showing intelligence, determination, and just overall mysteriousness.

Now this isn't a test of wit and will, so don't get too caught up or upset if you get stumped.

Lateral thinking is allowed! (Lateral thinking is where several people just talk about random stuff that they think is related to the riddle in the hopes of striking a moment of "EUREKA!")

And please don't just google the riddle for the answers. I'm trying to make this fun and interesting, so don't ruin it.

Okay I'll start off with a rather simple one.

"One hundred feet in the air, I lay with my back against the ground, what am I?"

If this becomes an actual meme for our site, perhaps we could eventually give out small rewards for a certain number of correctly answered riddles. Like maybe just a simple little title box for your signature made by someone with mad skills.

I'm probably just overestimating how far this will go, but I hope you guys have fun with this!

(jk hmmm..... 100 feet in the air i lay on my back...... thats an easy one! paris hilton on an airplane! gah ok ill be srious this time... hrmmm..... it obviously isnt an airplane (or has to do with one...) it isnt a turtle.... it must be..... A rock, because a rock has neither front nor back or top or bottom because you can spin it however u like, and its going to be exactly the same 100 ft in the air.)

mg why didn't i think of this early it ceiling cat he's just in the ceiling of a very tall building but he is standing on a ceiling so he kinda counts as being on the ground

Oh I have a really basic one.

Someone is dead, the neighbours called the police after hearing a gunshot. The police investigated and it looks like a suicide at first. There is a gun with only his prints on it and a tape recording of the man saying "I can't live like this anymore...*gunshot*" And then it stops. Instantly the head detective knows that this was a murder and not a suicide, how does he know this?

P.S. From memory so it might not ALL be correct.

(and on a side note, no in this case i beleive marcus would be light, although thats not exactly what i had in mind when i added that....)

The detective knows this because someone had to have stopped the recording after the shot went off.
